Uplifting,well written and wonderful

Initially purchased these to have something new to listen to in the car with my children. I had no idea how these stories would encourage and touch me! These are not cheesy at all, very well written dramas with heartfelt messages. My son loves them as much as my daughter my husband has been known to sneak a few CDs in his car too. They cover appropriate subjects which touch us all from trust , friendship, loss, fear, confusion, hope. It opens the door quite often for me to discuss evangelism or death or bullying...sex and the media. They cover the topics! My children pretty much will beg for me to play these CDs in the car. It will be a sad day when we are out of CDs!

very strong character portrayals and great educational value

First, I will say that I have never heard child actors do such a natural performance, even on TV shows! Good job in casting, CBH Ministries! These episodes were originally aired on radio. If you liked Adventures in Odyssey, you may like these as well.
The Morrison family is getting a new neighbor, and the five children are learning how to cope with town gossip--and how not to participate in it. Numerous other lessons are in store as they go about daily life: lessons about relationships, how to live as Christians and be a light to people who are hurting, etc.
Mild spoiler: this series features one of the best portrayals I have ever found of a character who is blind. The character makes repeated appearances, and one of the lessons that is available from this series is about how people with and without disabilities can build relationships together. The series has the potential to encourage important discussions about relationships in one's own community, and I strongly encourage using this series as an educational tool as well as for personal enjoyment.

Hmm. Kinda weird. It's like I'm listening to a sitcom... with commercials.

I just started this and decided it was worth a review.
First off, I give it 3.5 stars. I Iike the different voices, which is probably why it feels like I'm listening to TV.
Second, remember the part in the title about the commercials? Pfft. Of course you do, because unless you have a very severe case of short term memery loss, you probaby remember as far back as a minute and a half ago.
*!SPOILERS!*
Anyway, right after the girl finishes writing in her diary about her feekings about starting high school, this dude-who I think is the same guy from the beginning who introduced himself as Jacob-starts talking about change(s) and how you might feel about it. It sort of sounded like an AmFam commercial (because they're always saying that "your dream is out there. Go get it.") or a "vote for Obama/Romney" campaign commercial (because I felt like at any moment Jacob would say that voting for Obama/Romney was for the best and then "I am Jacob, and I approve of this message").
So, um, yeah. That was my review.
