Russia's Shakespeare

Reads like Russia's Shakespeare! Am in awe of translators, especially Babette Deutsch!! (I know how difficult translation is, a fact abused by West's politicians). I LOVE the prose (historical anecdotes and social commentary of the Enlightenment)! I love also the poetic sagas, such as Evgene Onegin! As Tschaikovsky also did as well as Romeo & Juliette, enough to make great operas out of both stories. This volume is such a peaceful sanctuary, joyful of LIFE, from the "cruel and barbarous actions" of the World, of the West mainly, since Pushkin, especially again in Russia's first capital in 2014. So educated, refined and civilized a "rebel" is Pushkin shown to be.

Great book. Loved it. It contains all of Pushkin's writings, his plays, and his poems. It is an essential part of the Classics collection that is meant for any Russophile. Great book.
